“Your heart must not be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you, If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may also be” (John 14: 1-3).
Felipa Leticia Reyes entered into the kingdom of heaven on April 1, 2020 from El Paso, Texas after a short illness at the age of 59. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday April 11, 2020 at Restlawn Cemetery in El Paso, Texas. The services are private due to the current health conditions. We appreciate the thoughts and prayers for her and for those afflicted during these difficult times. A memorial and Catholic Church service will be held at a later date when large gatherings are permitted. We will gather and celebrate Letty’s wonderful life. “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live.” (John 11:25).
Felipa was born on May 16, 1960 and grew up in Bayard, New Mexico with 4 sisters and 5 brothers before moving to Dell City, Texas where she met and married her high school sweetheart Hector Reyes on May 31, 1979. Felipa and Hector moved to Levelland, Texas to begin a family. They raised three children and in 1989, Felipa and Hector moved to El Paso, Texas their current home. Felipa was welcomed to the gates of Heaven by her parents Timoteo and Paula Campos and sister Teresa Campos. Felipa is survived by her loving husband of over 41 years Hector Reyes and their three children Angela, Danny and Hector Jr., their wives Jessica and Teresa and her beautiful grandchildren Aerianna, Danny, Isabella and Nilah. She is also survived by sisters Maria, Frosina, Antonia; brothers Gilbert, Ricardo, Serafin, Manuel, Rogelio; and many nieces and nephews.
Felipa will always remain in our hearts and her memories will live on. Felipa preferred to be called “Letty” and always enjoyed a full house. Letty used her cooking as a way of bringing people together. She will be remembered for her amazing cooking and delicious food. Her door was always open and she loved to share her home, especially during the holidays. She was funny and witty and had a gentle sense of humor. She was the backbone of a strong family and always brought people to the table with the smells from her kitchen.
Letty was an amazing wife and mother that was caring, gentle and kind. She loved to decorate her home with the changing of the seasons. Decorations of all kinds could be found in her home especially during the Christmas season. She was happy spirited when she cooked and her best talks were while making tamales or tortillas. She had a picture perfect recipe book mapped out in her mind and we are thankful for the times we shared. She had a strong Faith in God and this was visible by the way she made each person feel loved. We will always leave a light on for you. God bless you. We love and miss you.
We are very thankful for everyone’s support during this time and although Felipa will be laid to rest without all of the people she touched throughout her life, we look forward to seeing you soon to celebrate her life. If you knew her well, you would know that red roses were her favorite. Please save your flowers until her memorial celebration but if you would like to support the family of Felipa “Letty” Reyes with funeral services, you can do that here. Thank you.
