FELINE INFECTIOUS PERITONITIS RESEARCH HELP

I’m Debra Roberts, and our cat Luna is the FIRST cured cat from 2017 UC Davis trials with Dr. Niels Pedersen with the nucleoside analog GS441524. Luna is now a SIX-YEAR survivor as of July 2023 (14 weeks at diagnosis). I share her story to prove this treatment not only works, but long-term!

This fundraiser is for FIP Research. Even though an effective off-market cure exists, money for research is needed to find new drugs that CAN be FDA-approved, hence prescribed by vets--and an effective vaccine for the FIPV virus (not to be confused with FeCoV (Feline Coronavirus). These research trials are underway, but they need our help. This fundraiser will run through August and September.

I am directing support to the Every Cat Foundation's "Bria Fund," where 100% of the donations are used for FIP research. 100% goes to FIP research. Research projects at UC Davis, Colorado State, Ohio State, and Cornell have some really exciting work happening!

Many volunteers work tirelessly to help cats stricken with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) to be cured. This means helping them find the safest treatment and consulting with them through the 12 weeks of treatment and 12 weeks of observation. The cure rate for FIP is now about 90%! Because vets can't prescribe the treatment, they rely on a worldwide network of volunteers to guide them to safe, affordable treatment options. Vets can provide the supportive care needed to complete the treatment (labs, transfusions, additional medications, treatment for secondary infections, etc.).
