I'm Debra Roberts, and our cat Luna is the FIRST cured cat from the 2017 UC Davis trials with Dr. Niels Pedersen with the nucleoside analog GS-441524. Luna is now an EIGHT-YEAR-plus survivor (14 weeks at diagnosis). I share her story to prove that this treatment not only works, but it's a cure!
This fundraiser is for FIP Research. Even though an effective off-market cure has been available to the public since 2019, and vets can now prescribe (not FDA-approved but allowed) compounded oral GS-441524 and Molnupiravir. More research funding is needed to develop new drugs that can be FDA-approved. These trials are underway, but they need our help. I am directing support to the Every Cat Foundation's "Bria Fund," where 100% of the donations go to FIP research.
Our team works tirelessly to help cats stricken with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) receive treatment. This means assisting owners in securing treatment and navigating it, while coaching them through the 12 weeks of treatment and the 12 weeks of observation. Vets, shelters, rescues, breeders, and pet parents rely on our network and similar organizations for support, guidance, and promoting awareness.
If you need advice for your FIP cat, you can get it fast at Help For FIP®.
This is a time of learning and awareness that cats do NOT have to die because of the unfortunate decision by a big pharma company that refused to license GS-441524 through the FDA. While the way we got here has never happened before, tens of thousands of cat owners will enjoy their beloved pets for years to come.
