Help us build Feline Friends Shelter and Sanctuary

Donation protected
501c3 nonprofit Albuquerque Geri-Cats Estate & Sanctuary is partnering with us to build the Feline Friends Sanctuary and Shelter in South Valley Albuquerque! Please check out our story, share our link and make your tax deductible donation to help us build a place for cats in need. 100% of funds donated will be used to build the sanctuary.

We are a 100% volunteer led mission to alleviate the suffering of felines in our communities.

What we do:
We believe all cats deserve a loving home, healthy food and safe shelter. It is our belief that feral and homeless cats are no less deserving of a safe and healthy life than our companion animals. We work to TNR (trap/neuter/release), feed, provide veterinary care, rehabilitate and provide a permanent safe space for feral and community cats in underserved areas of New Mexico. We also foster vulnerable cats such as kittens, the elderly and those with illnesses or special needs.

What we want to do: in partnership with Albuquerque Geri-Cats Estate & Sanctuary 501c3 our plan is to build a shelter and sanctuary to serve the most needy and desperate cats in and around the Albuquerque area. An end of line resource for those that have been forgotten and have no where to turn.

New Mexico has more owner surrenders than any other state in the US. Even worse many more animals are abandoned completely. Dumped at the edges of cities or towns, in the desserts and mountain. Cultural attitudes and lack of education about spay/neuter as well as the basic needs of animals has created a crisis of overpopulation and suffering and a large population of feral and semi feral animals.

These animals suffer immensely. Malnutrition, exposure to the elements, parasites, continuous breeding, predators and human cruelty wreak havoc on their world. Tiny kittens covered in fleas, anemic and malnourished. Elderly cats covered in scars from a life on the streets. Cats who have been maimed by bullets and human hands. The horrors are one after another.

In our mission to help feral cats we have encountered:

Abandoned and suffering kittens and special needs cats that need extra care.

Stray cats who have been abandoned and desire the love, safety and companionship of a loving home.

Elderly cats that need a nice place to live out their golden years.

Semi feral cats or very shy cats that could be socialized with time care and patience.

Cats and kittens missing appendages or eyes, those with disabilities and illnesses.

We want to help them. All of them. The problem we have encountered again and again is that of space. All local shelters are continually at capacity and foster homes are full. Further, many shelters and rescue groups simply will not take or are unequipped to deal with special needs cats. Our team members homes are at capacity as well and it breaks our hearts to see cats in deseprate need with nowhere to turn. The problem at the end of the day is that there are more cats than there are homes to place them in and very few resources or homes for special cats.

We advocate for and actively participate in spay/neuter education and TNR in hopes of reducing future populations but in the mean time there is a very real need for shelter space for those that are suffering on the streets NOW. What we need more than anything is a facility to provide shelter. A place that cats can have as much time as they need to find a forever home. A place that can be their forever home if they can't find a family.

Our vision is to build a minishelter/sanctuary that will give these forgotten felines a opportunity to thrive, heal and find love. Our shelter will contain 2 cage free rooms with all the comforts of home as well as outdoor catio areas.

100% of funds donated will go directly to the building of the shelter and all donations are tax deductible.

Please join us in our mission of restoring hope to the forgotten and abused. Together we can make a difference and change lives.

Don't forget that sharing our fundraiser on your socials and with friends and family makes a big impact too!

With all my gratitude,

Samantha Morgan
