Felicia and Son Need Help After Health Crisis
Donation protected
Asking for help has never come naturally to me, but I've come to realize how important it is—especially in difficult times. Recently, I faced a health crisis when I was hospitalized for colitis and high blood pressure, which kept me in and out of the hospital for nearly 10 days. Thankfully, I'm feeling much better now, and my symptoms are being managed. But the financial burden from missed work and medical bills, coupled with the emotional strain, has been overwhelming.
Many of you are familiar with the ongoing struggles involving my son's father. Since July 2024, we've only received one child support payment. Recently, the pressure on us has become even more intense. I've been subjected to constant messages about parenting expectations within my home—covering everything from homework to discipline. He also messages our 12-year-old son multiple times a day, as early as 7:00 a.m. and as late as 9:30 p.m., and has shown up unannounced at our home. I strongly believe the stress from these ongoing issues contributed to my recent health problems.
To make matters worse, after a recent weekend visitation, my son came home with visible bruising, leading to a DCF investigation into his father. These ongoing challenges, coupled with legal and medical expenses, have left me feeling financially and emotionally drained.
I am now in the process of seeking a modification to the custody order to protect my son's well-being, but this will require significant legal assistance that I simply cannot afford on my own. It's incredibly humbling to reach out, but I am asking for help. Any support—whether financial, emotional, or otherwise—would go a long way in helping my little family through this difficult time and toward a safer, more stable future.
With deep gratitude,
Felicia
