Felice needs our help
MAY THE HAPPIEST FEELINGS IN THE UNIVERSE INCREASE AT AN INFINITE RATE FOR EVERY CREATURE IN CREATION!!
This is the prayer that Felice (aka Fred Rizzo) lives his life by.
A lifelong vegan, animal rights advocate, musician and artist, Felice has been an iconic part of Detroit for over 6 decades, where you've likely seen him whirling like a dancing dervish, protesting at justice rallies and enjoying nature and food with his friends. Felice's generosity has known no bounds over the years, he freely gives of his time, money, art, possessions and food without concern for himself.
Now the man who has tirelessly advocated for a vegan lifestyle and animal welfare needs OUR help.
We - Jim Kujawski, John Chetcuti and Betz King - are three of Felice's oldest friends, harkening back to the Cass Corridor and Rainbow Gatherings of the 80's. We have been caring for our friend during a serious illness. Felice was just released from the hospital after prostate surgery, and because of an interruption to his entitlements, he received notice that he's losing his apartment. He will soon be without permanent residence while trying to heal.
If we can raise $10,000, we will use it for:
1) first and last month's rent, security deposit & furnishings for a new apartment
2) food and medication while we work to reinstate all the medicare and medicaid benefits he's entitled to.
3) Alternative and integrative health treatments not covered by insurance.
Once Felice has a new place to live, the medications and alternative treatments he needs to heal, and the medicaid and medicare he's entitled to, he'll be self sufficient and able to live on his own again.
We know times are hard and there are many who need help right now. If Felice has ever brightened your life with his generous spirit, passionate advocacy, joyful music or trippy art, please give generously. Let's show him that Karma is alive and well.
