Abbey McMahon Boston Marathon for Gus Cardello

I am running the 2024 Boston Marathon this April for the Augustus “Gus” Cardello Memorial Scholarship! After meeting Gus during my first week at Providence College, he quickly became one of my favorite people to see on campus. As we grew closer as friends, he never failed to put a smile on my face or make me laugh (even if at an inappropriate joke). I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and am looking forward to honoring Gus’s legacy through this fundraiser. The Augustus G. Cardello ’21 Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Augustus G. Cardello ’21 Memorial Scholarship Fund was established on April 25, 2019, by Joseph and Michelle Cardello, parents of Augustus. For the family, it is a way to stay connected to the Providence College community Gus loved so much.

Gus exemplified the best of Providence College. He was such a welcoming presence, and a person that could make anyone smile. He built such an extensive community of friends at PC because of his outstanding personality and character. This scholarship fund provides students of similar character with financial support to attend PC. The mission of this scholarship fund will be continuing to try and build the best possible Providence College.
