Dear Friends,
I am writing this regarding my youngest daughter, Jennifer. She is nearly 53 years old and is in a dire situation. Her husband of more than 10 years is divorcing her. He petitioned the family law court to evict her from their home in Sacramento and unbelievably the court allowed it. At this writing she is to vacate their home by February 24 with no identifiable alternative for a place to live.
Unfortunately, Jennifer is not a fighter and has done little to take care of herself in her marriage to this very unreasonable and angry man. The house that was bought after they were together has always been in his name. He is claiming that she has no right to anything.
She has no where to go. She has no real money of her own. Although she is a very hard worker she works at a job that makes little more than minimum wage.
At this point she is planning in living in her broken down car. She has no money to fix her car.
Although she has an attorney, the attorney seems very ineffective to me.
No one in our family is in a position to help, Jennifer. I live on my Social Security income of less than $2500 a month. Both of my children in Houston are stable but are dealing with college-age children and the aging parents of their spouses as well as pending retirement. My other daughter in California is dealing with a new job, relocation, and the pending births of two grandchildren. There is no one else.
So, I am reaching out to this dear community to see if there are some who have the heart and compassion to offer a little help to my youngest daughter. If I didn’t feel desperate for helping her in some way, I could not ask for your help.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.
