Feed Hilton Head's First Responders
As most know the devastation of Hilton Head Island is massive. The only thing more massive is the amount of help that has come from all over the east coast to help in our recovery.
As with any recovery effort our wonderful first responder’s including Fire fighters, Electric linemen, Police Officers, National Guard and Sheriff’s Deputies are working long hours in an effort to restore power, utilities and clean the roads of downed trees so that people can return to their homes safely.
For the last week these wonderful people have been eating whatever they can get their hands on from cold sack lunches to days on end of MRE's, even canned ravioli... Hilton Head and Bluffton can do better than that.
In an effort to feed all the people who are helping us local restaurants like Neo Farm to Table, Calhoun's, Wellfed, Low Country Kitchen and Palm Key Catering have banded together to feed our hero's with nutritious food rather than junk.
The last two days this group of volunteers has been cooking, baking and preparing everything they can get their hands on in an effort to serve 350+ hot nutritious meals a day.
So please, help us help them stay strong and well-nourished through the long hours that they are giving our community in our long journey towards recovery.
We will keep serving hot meals till the last first responder leaves, that is our committment.
Whether its $5 or $500 every penny counts. If you cannot give at this time, then the only thing we ask is you share this with as many people as you can.
We appreciate your help in our effort to serve them.
If you have any questions or concerns about the legitimacy of this food campaign you are welcome to call Chef Russell of Neo at [phone redacted] or Amanda Walton of Wellfed at [phone redacted].
If you would rather do a food donation please call either person for a list of what they are serving that day, where and when to drop it off.
