Many of you know or have meet Feedle. A fixture at early Defcons, he's one of the original participants of the SoCal Defcon Caravan, a broadcast media junkie, and an old-school telecom hack.... er.... wirehead. He's helped support many causes, and now he needs your help.
Feedle wants a box!
Recent years in the Pacific Northwest have not been as kind to Feedle as he's been to them. He lost his house to forclosure. He ended up moving to Central Oregon for work, which did its level best to kill him (Central Oregon, not work.) He had a heart attack, and a quadruple bypass afterwards. And now, after this, Feedle has found himself in need of a home.
Feedle NEEDS a box!
Right now, Feedle is living out of his Volkswagen camper off of some friends land in Southwest Oregon. Not the most optimal conditions, but winter is coming, and the top of the camper is a canvas pop-up. A recent incident means that Feedle is now a candidate for arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder, and "living under canvas" is no longer an option, for his own safety and health.
We've found Feedle a box!
Purchasing a "Class A" motorhome will give Feedle an actual roof over his head that is weather-resistant for the cold Oregon winters. If he needs to move for work, his home can move with him. And by us chipping in to help him buy it, Feedle won't have to sell his beloved VW "Otto", which is his most reliable form of commuting transport to get him to contracts, interviews, and -- eventually -- permanent employment. We've found several candidate 'homes' that will work great -- but this is where you come in.
Feedle's box has a bottom line.
$10,000. That's a a decent night out ($100) for 100 of you. The funds from this campaign will be used to purchase and register "Das Feedlevagen", and help pay for any upkeep or minor work that needs to happen.
Please help give back to someone who has given so much to so many communities.
Who am I?
Obviously, I'm not Feedle. (He's much better looking). I'm a close friend (some of you know me as "bluknight" or "BK" or "mec") who met Feedle at work 15 years ago, started talking about hobbies, and had a mutual "Oh, you're THAT guy!" moment. We've been good friends ever since, and I've been doing the best I can to help support him and keep the home fires burning. Please help. He's good people.
