Feeding NYC Healthcare Heroes-David & Susan Chong

WNBC Coverage of Feeding NYC Healthcare Heroes

David Chong, M.D. has been on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19 in his job as the head of Columbia Presbyterian's ICU.  Hospitals all over the world have been overwhelmed by this crisis, but in NYC, the toll has been overwhelming. Seeing that his residents and staff didn't have time for meals, he mobilized and along with his wife Susan Lee-Chong,  started feeding his colleagues every night.  They started small, and the effort, thanks to supporters, has grown tremendously. In 40 days, they have provided close to 4000 meals for busy staff, purchased from restaurants in NYC and Westchester that have been struggling.  Their work has even been featured on the NBC affiliate in NYC, WNBC 4 New York.

It is impossible to underestimate how this effort has boosted morale and provided a welcome break to the horrors of the coronavirus pandemic.

To continue this effort and support these heroes, they need your help now more than ever! Your contributions will be used to continue feeding healthcare workers at CUMC's ICU.  Susan and David have been doing this in their spare time, with every penny donated going to meals*.

Any amount is welcome! Here's where your money will go.

$10 will provide a dinner to a healthcare worker

$25 buys 4 breakfasts from a local bagel shop

$50 will provide desserts for 20 workers

$100 buys meals for 10 workers

$500 will provide meals for an entire unit. Your donation can be used to honor a loved one and will be acknowledged as such in our social media posts.
