Feeding Healthcare Workers in the Bay Area

The front-line staff working at Stanford Healthcare Outpatient Primary Care Clinics are being taxed to their limits under the new and colossal stress of COVID-19.  Our doctors and staff are busy beyond belief and need our support, but they, and the staff that supports them, have the additional stress of trying to line up meals during the day while they work to combat the spread of the virus.  In addition to this, shopping is difficult for many of the clinic staff, and some families have lost substantial portions of their income due to layoffs, putting rent and bill payments at risk.  They shouldn't have to spend their time worrying about feeding themselves; if there is any way we can alleviate the stress they face, it will facilitate delivery of care.

Our goal is to provide Stanford Primary Care staff with lunches, and as approved by management, other assistance during this crisis.  The pandemic is moving almost faster than we can follow; any of our medical staffs' energy we can spare from distraction means lives saved.

The cost of providing a meal for the average clinic of about ~20 MDs, Residents, Nurses, Medical Assistants, Front Desk staff,  is about $300 per meal, though any contributions are appreciated.  We expect the crisis to continue into July, thus our high goals.
