Hey guys, we want to share with you about what has been going on in Congo and how you can help.
You may or may not be aware of what is going on in Congo, but it has now reached my hometown and is affecting my family and many other families. Basically…
- the government is unstable
- militia/rebels have come in (the M23), searching for minerals
- right now, families are scared to leave their home and are forced to stay on house arrest (prisoners in their own home)
- because families are forced to stay home for safety, people don’t have access to food because most Congolese live day to day to survive
I (Patient) was able to speak to my Dad, but I haven’t been able to reach my Mom.
What can you do? Of course pray. Pray for the families affected. Pray for safety. Pray for the leadership to stand up and protect these innocent lives. Pray for provision during this time of unrest and uncertainty.
Lindsay and I started a charity called “Bukavu Charity” and we have worked to support families in the past. We started in 2020 when we bought food for 266 families to help during Covid-19. In 2021, we bought tents for people with no shelter as a result of the volcanic eruptions and displacement from Goma. Now in 2025, we are trying to feed families during this political and civil unrest due to the rebels taking over the area.
We want to raise $6,000. This money would go directly to buying food for people. The reason why we have that amount is to spend $60 of food for 100 families (these families have on average 3 children or more). The food would include corn maize, beans, rice and oil. Please give what you can.
