Feed the Maasai of Maasai Mara Reserve, Kenya

Donation protected
The Maasai people living in the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya are facing hunger and starvation due to imposed isolation and lack of tourism during this period of COVID-19. We are working to get food to 3,500 people in remote villages, but are struggling to provide enough for everyone.

The amount needed to feed the villages for a week is $6,500...     $26,000 could feed everyone for a month

We are hoping to feed these key villages for the next year while they are forced to isolate. We are working directly with one of the Chiefs, who we have a long working relationship of 15 years with. We know Chief Paul Kasale Maitei personally (one of the photos is him holding our now teenage son as a baby) and he is like family to us. We have contributed to educational opportunities for girls in his village in the past. He has never asked us for anything, but now his people are facing hunger and starvation and he needs our help.

Help is needed immediately; people are going without food today

All the money you contribute will go directly to Chief Paul Maitei to continue buying and distributing food. We are sending the money directly into the hands of the Maasai to procure the food. There is no NGO taking administration fees, no paid employee overseeing it. This is about as direct and undiluted a transaction as possible from a western country to a developing country.

We will be sending money continuously over the next year while we work towards this goal. Right now we are facing this one week at time, so don't be daunted by the overall number. You can make a difference right now that will save lives.
Thank you so much for considering helping these families in dire need. We know that many people all over the world are struggling right now. May we all find a way to help each other.
