The rapidly-evolving situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic has the nation on the edge of their seats. The daily lives and our very routines have been disrupted due to school closures, supply chain interruptions, mass cancellations of large scale sporting events and social functions, and now, local businesses, specifically in the food and beverage industry are being forced to close their doors. Despite the changes happening in our community one population remained constant .. like a beating heart .. your healthcare workers.
While the rest of the nation is taking additional precautions .. many to the point of quarantine, nurses and doctors leave their family every day to double their efforts working endlessly to contain COVID-19. As a nurse myself, I have seen first-hand how this is affecting our staff and the public. I feel it is my duty to aide my fellow healthcare workers that are getting down and dirty in the trenches. After working their12-hour shifts, healthcare workers feel the frustration of getting off work to be disappointed by empty shelves and a lack of time to prepare for the weeks to come. Many others work long nights when the cafeteria is closed forcing staff to rely on takeout food as their primary option.
The purpose of this is quite simple .. Every dollar earned will be used to feed and thank our hard-working nurses and doctors on the front line while also supporting local small business restaurants in the North County area. We intend to do this by making food orders through these small business and having them delivered to hospital staff. Know a Nurse, Doctor, Respiratory Therapist or healthcare worker you would like to thank and support in these times? Any and every donation is appreciated from the bottom of our huge healthcare hearts!
