Keeping Seniors, Disabled, and Low-Income Families with Their Pets

❤️ Because no one should ever have to choose between feeding themselves or feeding their best friend.

Every one of us knows someone — a senior, disabled neighbor, or family friend on a fixed income — who is struggling right now.
For many, their pet is their comfort, their reason to smile, and sometimes their only companion.

At All Ways Home Pet Pantry, we’re turning compassion into action.
We rescue and distribute perfectly good pet food and supplies that would otherwise be thrown away — and get them straight to the people and animals who need them most.

With your help, we can keep pets home, out of shelters, and right where they belong — in the arms of those who love them.

A Real Story: Denise & Missy

Our friend Denise recently lost her husband. She’s now living on a fixed income, doing her best to get through each day with her sweet little dog, Missy.

Missy has been Denise’s full-time companion — her comfort through the hardest loss of her life.
But with grocery prices rising and medical bills stacking up, even buying Missy’s food has become a challenge.

That’s where the All Ways Home Pet Pantry comes in.
We’ve been helping Denise keep Missy fed with healthy kibble and wet food, so she can stay right where she belongs — at home, loved, and cared for.

There are so many more families just like Denise and Missy who need help.

Who We Are

We’re Always Home Animal Refuge, a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit sanctuary in the Hemet–Anza Valley of Southern California.

We currently care for over 30 rescued horses, two pigs, a goat, three dogs, and many cats who came from the streets or feral colonies.

Through our volunteer work, we discovered something shocking — perfectly good pet food and supplies are being thrown away every week.

Under today’s online return systems, once a bag or case is sent back, it rarely goes back on a store shelf.
Even unopened items are often destroyed.
We decided to change that.

Our Mission

The All Ways Home Pet Pantry will help seniors, disabled individuals, and low-income families care for their pets — and keep them together.

Our goals:

Provide free pet food and essential supplies to those who need them most.

Partner with local senior parks and community centers for easy access and pickup.

Keep pets out of shelters and with their families.

Rescue returned and overstocked food before it’s destroyed — much of it brand new.

Support feral colony caregivers and TNR volunteers with large-bag cat food donations.

Build toward a future delivery program for seniors or disabled pet owners who can’t travel.

Offer discounted pet food and supplies to help sustain the pantry long-term.

Every $25 helps feed a small dog or cat for a month — and keeps a family together.

How Your Donation Helps

We’re raising $5,000 to launch the All Ways Home Pet Pantry and support our sanctuary animals while we get this community program off the ground.

Your gift will go toward:

$500 – Tires, power-steering pump, and insurance for our truck and trailer to safely haul food and supplies.

$2,000 – Procurement of full pallets of pet food (about 1,500 lbs each) and fuel to transport them from warehouse distributors to our sanctuary.

$1,500 – Feed, hay, and care for our 30+ sanctuary animals while we focus on building the pantry.

$500 – Build and host a simple website to handle donations, volunteers, and food assistance requests.

$500 – Bins, pallets, banners, and basic supplies for organizing and hosting distribution events.

We already have our 501(c)(3) status, California Seller’s Permit, and tax exemption — giving us access to wholesale pricing, corporate donations, and upcoming grant programs.

We are actively applying for grants and building partnerships, but those take time.
This campaign provides the startup bridge to help us begin now — picking up food, serving local seniors, and saving thousands of pounds of pet food from going to waste.

The Bigger Picture

Starting in Hemet, our goal is to build a model that can expand across Riverside County and beyond.

This project brings together compassion, sustainability, and community — and it benefits everyone:

1. Reduces shelter intake by keeping pets in their homes.

2. Supports emotional well-being for seniors, disabled, and low-income families.

3. Prevents waste by rescuing returned and surplus pet food before it’s destroyed.

4. Builds toward a mobile delivery and shipping program for those who can’t reach pickup sites.

When people and pets can stay together, both lives improve — and the entire community grows stronger.
