Hello, my name is Dolly Sperry. For the past 9 years I've cooked in the Iowa City service industry. I've now decided to start my own food venture, Mazee's Food truck. Mazee's is a vegan, pay-what-you-can food truck whose main purpose is to feed anyone that needs a meal without the worry of cost, and for those with extra resources to have a way of supporting their community. The idea is called same plate. Those in Iowa City and beyond that don't have the means to a meal can share the same food experience as the rest of their community because of people that enjoy good food and want to make it possible for everyone in their community to stay fed. It will utilize a pay-it-forward strategy to offset the food being given away, with a suggested donation menu and the option to pay more if you would like the food and support the mission. The menu will be a simple but robust deli/diner styled vegan menu! It will be open 5 days a week, parking mostly a location or two around Iowa City, cater to concerts and community events, and do pop-ups in other cities.
