✈️ Help Feed Houston Hobby Air Traffic Controllers During the Government Shutdown
My name is Mack McBurney, and as a former Air Force air traffic controller and pilot, I have a deep appreciation for the critical work our FAA controllers do every day to keep our skies safe. Right now, the controllers at Houston Hobby Airport Tower are working without pay due to the ongoing government lockout — and they need our support.
These professionals continue to guide thousands of flights safely in and out of Houston, despite facing personal financial hardship. Many are struggling to afford groceries, pay bills, and care for their families. Some have had to choose between buying food and filling prescriptions. These are not just workers — they are public servants, parents, and neighbors who deserve our help.
This fundraiser is dedicated to providing grocery gift cards directly to the controllers at Houston Hobby Tower. Your donation will help:
Purchase and deliver grocery gift cards to affected controllers and their families.
Partner with local vendors to ensure timely and respectful delivery.
Show appreciation for the people who keep our skies safe — even when they’re not being paid.
Whether it’s $5 or $50, your contribution will make a real difference. Every dollar goes directly to supporting these essential workers during this difficult time.
Let’s come together as a community to support the people who protect us from above. Every donation helps. Every share matters. Thank you for standing with Houston’s air traffic controllers.
To ensure everyone of this fund raiser legitimacy. We have reached out to the Houston Hobby Airport Tower and are working directly with management to set up a day next week to deliver these gift certificates. We are also working with HEB to try and coordinate their help in getting the gift certificates from them. The fundraiser has been broadcast by Fox26 news affiliate here in Houston and have even received participation by Houston’s own JJ Watt. We look forward to seeing our progress over the weekend and helping resolve at least one stress for our men and women in ATC. Big thanks for everyone’s support!
