Feed Durham's Children: Help Mama Jean's Pantry

Mama Jean's Community Pantry
My name is Samantha Jean Jones, and I started Mama Jean's food pantry in August. The kids in my neighborhood are struggling with breakfast and lunch. Durham Public Schools provide free breakfast and lunch, but due to the lack of quality food, many of the students have to wait until they get home to eat lunch. Additionally, the lack of bus drivers causes buses to run late, and the school cafeteria runs out of food for lunches! When I first started, there were 9 children I was serving breakfast and lunch. In ONE month, that number has tripled! I am now serving 30 students, ranging all the way from elementary school children to high school students. To keep up with this need, my daughter and I have been working 13-hour days with Instacart, but the need is so vast that I need extra help.
I am looking for donations to help me continue to provide for and feed the kids.
$6-$8 provides a breakfast meal
$8-$10 provides a lunch meal
$15-$20 feeds one child for the day
$50 feeds a child lunch for a school week $100 feeds one child for a school week
This is our community and our future. Every amount helps. If you prefer to donate items directly or have gift cards to offer, please message me directly. If you’d like to see some of the process, I have some videos on TikTok: Mama Jean’s Community Pantry
