We are officially launching this emergency appeal for hundreds of women and Children currently suffering in Uvira, Eastern DR Congo, and those forced across the border into refugee camps in Burundi.

The "Silent Crisis" of Fear and Trauma

In Uvira, the nights are no longer peaceful. Even for those who have escaped the front lines of the war, they live in a state of constant fear. Thousands of mothers have arrived with nothing but children in their arms and the heavy trauma of what they witnessed. The situation is so desperate that many continue to flee toward Burundi, while those remaining struggle to find a single meal. This is a silent crisis, and these women and children feel forgotten by the world.

Our Mission: More Than Just Food My name is Salim Cliff. As a member of HoReSo, I am leading this effort because we know that a survivor needs more than just a plate of food to recover.

HoReSo is an officially registered organization in both the United States and the Democratic Republic of Congo. We provide professional accountability through our U.S. presence, while our team on the ground in Uvira provides direct relief. While we are currently finalizing our 501(c)(3) status, the hunger and trauma in Uvira cannot wait for paperwork. The need is immediate.

Our Strategy: 90 days Emergency Responses.

Our goal is to support 500 of the most vulnerable individuals, specifically survivors of violence, widowed women, nursing mothers and orphaned children. Our approach is three-fold:

-Emergency Nutrition: Immediate food to stop starvation.

-Trauma Counseling: Providing safe spaces and psychological support to help children and mothers process the horrors of war and begin to heal their minds and spirits.

-Specialized Care: Medical support and safe haven resources for survivors of Sexual violence

$60 Provides a Survivor "Recovery Kit" including food, medical check-ups, and a trauma counseling session.

$150 Sustains 5 children with nutrition and mental health support for a month.
