FedEx People Helping our friend Steve Smith.

Employees and contractor drivers out of the Stoney Creek FedEx Ground station all know Steve Smith. He's the smiling face on the other side of the check-in window for some. An easy to get along with co-worker to others. Steve is the kind of person who is always generous with his time either lending a hand or listening when you need someone to talk to.

For those who don't know, Steve is going through a tough time right now. The details are not mine to share but lets just say he's dealing with a terrifying health issue times two! As always with those who are required to seek time away from work for necessary treatment there is also the stress of lost wages and financial uncertainty.

I wanted to create this campaign as a way to show Steve that we do care about him and that he has made an impact. I believe that Steve demonstrates to those around him that meaning in life is achieved though selfless service to others. I like to think that his friendly demeanor is evidence that he finds this approach a source of happiness.

The very least we can do now is take a small share of our own fragile prosperity and pass it along to someone in need. Steve is a worthy recipient and I am sure the sentiment will magnify the value. If you are unable to give please do your part by passing this message on to others who may know him.
