We have lost another friend in our community. Scott Federhofer passed away yesterday after an extended and unexpected hospital stay over the holidays.

Scott is a Navy Veteran and the owner of an O’Fallon-based small business, Homeworx Professionals. Homeworx Professionals is a commercial and residential construction company. His wife, Melissa, is the Marketing & Communication Manager for the O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce as well as the office manager for Homeworx. Their adult children, Derek, Jacob, Katie, and Jamie, grew up in O’Fallon and attended O’Fallon schools.

Both Scott and Melissa took ill right before Christmas and were hospitalized for pneumonia. Melissa spent just short of a week in the hospital and is still recovering. Unfortunately, Scott was never released from hospital care.

The life of a self-employed business owner is tough- balancing home and business budgets; often robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Melissa and the kids are dealing with the loss of Scott the husband and father, but also the head of the family business.

We’re asking for help to pay the astronomical medical fees that were accumulated during their hospital stays.
