Help Me Catch Up on Mortgage & Pay daughter's fee to register for Spring Semester at Baylor University
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out during a really difficult time in my life. Earlier this year, in February, I was laid off from my federal government position. Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to get back on my feet—submitting over 250 applications and finally securing another government job.
Unfortunately, right after starting, the government shutdown happened, putting my income on hold again. I’ve been working hard to stay afloat, but right now I’m behind on my mortgage payments and facing the risk of pre-default.
I’m also trying to pay my daughter's outstanding fees so she can continue her education for Spring. She is unable to register until fee are paid. Starting this campaign was hard because I believe in work for what you need. I have exhausted all of my saving !
Updated ! Received documentation that furlough with be additonal 30 days! Apply to job outside of government.
Any amount you can contribute will help me:
Catch up on my mortgage payments
Avoid default or losing my home
Pay off school fees so my daughter can register for Spring semester.
I’ve always believed in working hard and helping others, but right now, I truly need a hand to get back on track.
Thank you for your kindness, understanding, and any support you can offer — whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page.
With gratitude,
Bettye Okae
