I want to tell you a little bit about me and why I am raising funds for my second album.
I have been a musician my whole life, since I embraced my first guitar at the age of 13. Fast forward to 2019, I started my solo career and released my debut album "Walkin' the Blues". The album received great reviews from around the world, such as Blues Matters Magazine stating "these seven tracks are high quality and give a good idea of the strengths of Federico's playing and some of his diverse guitar influences." Shortly after the album released, I had started booking gigs and was looking forward to my first few live shows.
Lets put it this way for what happened next: the journey of an independent artist is like being on a boat. You set sail, all you have control over is your boat, even in a storm. For me that big storm was COVID-19. It sank my hopes of pursuing a solo blues artist career. As the live venues shut down and Toronto was in a complete lockdown, I did the same with my life.
After months of questioning my career, it's potential future, and playing every sad blues song I know. I found the answer in my music and set on a new sail. This is what brings us to my why.
Why am I fundraising:
Making an album is really fun and challenging. Song writing, composing, recruiting session musicians etc all have a cost. These costs are beyond what I saved up for this album. I am blessed to be able to collaborate with the best musicians I could have imagined. Just to give you a glimpse of my special guests: Jerry Portnoy, Will Lee, Oz Noy, Joey Landreth and Matt Schofield.
Now that I have your attention and excitement for this upcoming album, I need your support to bring it to the finish line.
How will the funds be used:
Every amount raised in this fundraising will be going to cover following costs:
- musicians
- studio time
- mixing
- mastering
- printing and distribution
- marketing
As a thank you for your support, I will be offering the following incentives:
1) With $100 donation: signed copy of my album
2) With $250 donation: guitar lesson
3) Random draw: free tickets to my show in Toronto
