In Loving Memory of Austin Kirkpatrick
On November 14, 2019 we unexpectedly lost our sweet Austin. Our Lord in Heaven took his hand to bring him home.
Our boy had been sick for only a few weeks with what we thought was bronchitis or pneumonia. His mom and dad brought him to the ED expecting a round of antibiotics and to be sent home. He never left the hospital. When Austin was transferred to Mayo Clinic we knew it was more serious. He immediately went into respiratory failure and was heavily sedated. He is a fighter though and we never lost hope. After he was diagnosed with a very rare strain of Valley Fever, his body began to shut down. The Mayo doctors tested for everything, tried everything, and were still unable to save him. We believe Austin did not pass in vain though. What Austin had was so rare, even the Mayo doctors were perplexed. Everything they tried helped them understand this disease a little more so that other people could be saved.
Austin passed with his mom, dad by his side They held him until he was ready to go. He fought hard. But his illness was too much for his body to fight any longer. Our hearts are broken and our family will never be the same without him.
Austin just graduated high school in
May 2019. He was ready to enroll in trade
school just before he became ill. We never
imagined only a few short weeks later he
would be gone. Austin brought so much joy
and laughter to our family with his sweet
smile, sense of humor and beautiful soul. He was excited for his future spent his time
working on his Camero (amongst other
projects). He loved working in the garage
with his dad. Austin’s dog, Winter was by his side every minute of the day. They were best friends. He will be missed dearly by everyone that knew him.
Austin was only 20 years old. As a parent, you never imagine your child will be taken from you, especially at such a young age. Austin’s mom, dad and 2 younger sisters are
grieving terribly. We set up this go fund me
page to help lessen the burden of burying
their sweet boy. Anything you can contribute will help immensely. We can’t thank you
enough for your support to help us celebrate Austin’s beautiful life.
