Hey Everyone! As some of you may know I have been in the hospital for the past week and a half. On Friday, January 28th, I broke both my tibia and fibula in the lower extremities of my right leg. I was lucky to have my phone on me and was able to call my friend, Nick, for help. When we realized the problem was a bit more than just a sprain we ended up having to call an ambulance.
They took me to the hospital and determined that not only was my ankle dislocated and my leg broken, but it was also a complex break which meant it could not be fixed immediately. They took me into surgery and attached an external fixator to stabilize the break until the swelling was reduced enough to have the surgeon fix it with metal plates and screws. They kept me in the hospital until Tuesday at which point they decided to send me to a rehabilitation hospital. I have been here for almost a week and am happy to say I get released tomorrow, February 7th. I'll be home for a few days before I have the final surgery on Friday, February 11th. After this surgery, the doctor is requiring me to stay in bed for 2 weeks before I can return to work.
Unfortunately, 11 nights in the hospital with two total surgeries will have a severe financial impact. Not only will I have to pay medical expenses, but I will also have to pay my monthly bills without 4 weeks of pay. If you are able I would appreciate any help you can give. If you do not know me personally and came across this through other means I have included a small blurb about me below.
I am a 25-year-old who works in the Title Insurance Industry. I love to watch movies, read, and play all kinds of board games. I also enjoy playing D&D and have recently gotten into playing Magic the Gathering. My personal goal for life is to strive to make a positive impact in the lives of all the people I meet. I hope to open a foster home one day and provide others with opportunities that have been given to me.
Thank you for reading and I appreciate any help you can give. Even if it is only to share this GoFundMe with your community.
