NB & ESA Homeless in DC- can you help?
Donation protected
Hi folks! I’m a 23 year old non-binary cool cat who needs help with housing!
I was displaced due to COVID-19 along with my ESA Friday. She’s currently staying with a friend of mine so she is safe, fed and happy. I, however, am not.
I was just released from the hospital last week and managed to make it back to D.C. I’m currently staying at Casa Ruby, a trans friendly homeless shelter. I’ve managed to snag a great job in Rockville, MD as a patissier, and there are multiple housing opportunities within my price range, one of them being $700 with only a $300 deposit!
Right now I can manage getting to and from work via Metro, but I would like to move out of the city as soon as possible and be reunited full time with Friday.
I need to scrape together $1,000 for the deposit on the room, and the additional $1,000 is for just in case other folks want to help me with groceries and paying for my medication (which collectively is approximately $200) I’ll probably discontinue the gofundme as soon as I have at least $1,500, because that will be more than enough to get me in to a house.
If you can’t donate, the next best thing is sharing this page. I am trying so hard to gain traction, along with coping with my grief, mental illness and the innate trauma of the very real possibility of me getting COVID-19. I’m on the road to recovery, but without stability I cannot use my coping mechanisms (such as meditation, mindfulness and DBT skills that I learned in the hospital) because the environment I am in is not conducive to a peaceful mindset.
Thank you so much for checking out this page, and to everyone who has donated and shared I am so so truly grateful.
