FEB 13, 2023: Eviction Notice Emergency

Donation protected

Thanks You all so very much for your donations and words of concern & comfort. I am beyond grateful for the love and support I am receiving during this extremely serious yet temporary emergency, and soon to be resolved situation. Thank You All Ever so much for taking the time to read and respond to this unforeseen misfortune. My Endless Respect and Appreciation.

I am asking for $20,000 to stop the eviction to my work/home. The marshals can come anytime after February 13th and forcefully vacate me from my premises, which I can stop with full payment.

With coaching from dear and supportive friends, I’m posting this GoFundMe to move forward, with what needs to be done, to secure collective help, to save everything in my home/studio and storage space from being auctioned off from this approaching eviction. I decided to work smart to resolve this financial hardship.

I will share with you the series of events that are not uncommon to us all. My financial discourse began with me having to, unexpectedly pay (in cash) for my youngest sister’s funeral and all the arrangements, (which I did not tell anyone about her passing, because it hurt to.o much to acknowledge the expressed condolences).

Like almost everyone on the planet, my income also slowed down during the pandemic, but for me, specific public art projects were completely shelved, eliminating the funding I would use to survive and save. I lived off my savings during the pandemic, as I thought my work flow would resume at the end of the lock down, to be what it was before we were all shut-in, plus the unfortunate breaking of my right (dominant) arm twice around that same period.

There is hope...!!!

I am breaking through my hesitation to ask for support from the “collective greater-good” and do what must be done, as I wait throw the next few months for contract signings for proposed projects to begin, and public art jobs to start back, as steady as they were before the pandemic along with my other major setbacks.

I am a passionate believer in visions, the imagination and creativity.
A choice of both or one of these one of a rayon thread, kind hand crochet mandala's.

I live by my belief, as a full-time visionary professional fiber artist, whose creativity is my strongest asset and a skill that sustains me and my practice, by creating and designing large, sometime heavy crochet artwork for public art and public and private art collections.

As I healed, I took my practice into an alternate direction creating an on going photo series. during this extremely slow period. I have created a photo collection titled: “STRAIGHT OUT OF THIS WORLD”, of vintage crochet afghan’s, gracefully draped over vintage wooden chairs, inspired by my mother's affordable interior enhancing skill she used to adorn of our home and to commemorate the many souls, known and unknown that lost during the pandemic,

and the creation of my Radical, Supernatural, Black-Bohemian Urban Mystics, Photo Series, a digital collage of Urban Narratives created with miniature multi racial action figure's, photo collage, found objects, and custom crochet items that were extremely rewarding as I explore and experiment with the aesthetic of Funky, Cosmic Black Futuristic lifestyle choices, This project was but not that financially successful, but I plan to continue to develop it known the less.

I am Blessed to have Angel's in my life who are art producers, who gave me a couple of wonderful contracts for temporary public art works that fed me, lifted my spirits, comforted and helped me to see my way through this journey, still a believer as I am recovering from my situation.

The reason for this close to the date, last minute plea, is due to earlier scheduling of project startups, only for them to be later set back to a later date of starting, which has created where I am now with this humbling GoFundMe.
