We are raising money at the East Waco Empowerment Project for our 6th Annual Feast in the East, and any donation will help make an immediate impact on our community.
The poverty rate in Waco is 26.2%; according to Caritas of Waco. Food insecurity affects people from all walks of life and Feast in the East wants your help, to help us serve a bigger purpose in the community.
The Feast in the East, for us, is all about being a better family together and as it stands, that's still not possible to execute safely right now.
In 2020, with encouragement from the community, some of our previous sponsors and as Newly Minted East Waco Residents, OUR District 1 Councilwoman Andrea Jackson Barefield, we came up with the new iteration of Feast in the East and we will be deploying it again for 2021 as well; Feast in the East in a Box.
We are ALSO going to increase the number to 200 needy families to receive a complete Holiday Dinner and accoutrements in a box. Delivery of these things will be made by fully vaccinated volunteers in full PPE with every precaution considered.
This year is another opportunity to pool our resources and efforts together for this outstanding cause. Feast in the East in a Box will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the City of Waco Multi-Purpose Center located at 1020 Elm Avenue on the Historic Paul Quinn Campus in East Waco from 2 pm - 6 pm.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
