Getting My Family to My Graduation!
Donation protected
Hello Family and Friends!
It has taken me a while to reason whether creating a gofundme account was a good idea or not. However, after a lot of praying and seeking wise advice, I have decided to take this fearless leap of faith!
My family has always taught me to work hard and never give up on any goal or dream that I have, and this May I am proud to say I will be completing college with a 3.8 G.P.A. with a B.S. in Business Marketing and a B.A. in Communication Arts; Making me a first generation graduate! My family is extremely proud of me and it would be a huge blessing to see their faces as I walk across the stage in May. However, this cannot happen unless I can raise this full amount necessary by April 1, 2016.
The funds raised will go towards me providing my family with the opportunity to come to my graduation and helping me to fulfill the requirements of paying off the rest of my school balance. Every penny counts, and I want to be able to tell my mom, dad, sisters, and nephew: "Thank you for always pushing me, even in the times you had nothing to give. Here is my gift to you."
At first, I didn't want to create this fundraising account because I knew some would judge me. But I'm not ashamed and I know God can do wonderful things when we trust Him! I had to look at the facts: Neither my family or myself can afford the expenses of helping me pay off the rest of balance and coming to see me graduate this May.
I come from a very humble background. Neither of my parents ever had the opportunity to receive the type of education that I have been so blessed with, and after my father had his stroke in 2011, things have gotten tighter than they have ever been. Many would be ashamed to tell their story, but God has been able to do miracles in our lives, despite the struggles that have come our way throughout the years.
I know this is a lot for anyone to be able to give, but I also know if we all come together this can be possible. Whether we raise a few dollars or the goal posted, I know God can still do incredible things through this! Walking fearlessly in my faith to me means, even though I can't see the finish line, I have faith that God can still use this for His glory.
Thank you in advance for your donations, prayers, and even spreading this message! If you would like to get in contact with me personally, please feel free to contact me at any point!
(P.S. My mom, dad, sister, and nephew do not have a Facebook accounts, so please keep this a secret!)
