¿How Fearless Girls was born?
Niñas Sin Miedo or Fearless Girls is born from my desire to address my own fears. An episode of sexual violence, from which I left uninjured physically but with emotional sequels, was the moment that influenced me to think about preventing this situation for other girls and adolescents.
On March 8, 2016, my dream begun with the idea to create a social impact model that provides tools to the girls of Soacha’s commune 4 to prevent gendered violence. I decided to use a bicycle and education as the fundamental tools to solve the problems that these girls face. In the same month, myself along with three volunteers started working Saturday afternoons with girls in the area. Today, we are a team of 32 committed volunteers with the vision of being the pioneer foundation for the empowerment of girls and adolescents in Colombia.
How is to be a girl in Colombia
In Colombia and many other countries around the world, girls live in relative tranquility. However, when they start puberty around the age of 10, girls are exposed to harassment, physical and sexual violence, forced marriage, sexual exploitation, and much more.
The numbers in Colombia are frightening: In 2017, 2,500 reports of sexual violence against minors were registered (84% of these victims were girls). In our country, we have girls in war and girls victims of armed actors: 1.15 million girls have been affected by the conflict since 1985.
Why support fearless girls foundation?
The dream to watch girls break stereotypes as well as social and economic barriers. Our goal will become possible if every sector supports our initiative. We aim each year to reach more girls and provide the opportunity to develop stronger soft skills.

WHAT DO WE DO AT NIÑAS SIN MIEDO?
• We built a place where the girls can express their ideas and doubts without fear of being judged.
• We share and create experiences about learning through games and sports.
• The girls learn their rights and empower themselves through their own choices.
• We practice and strengthen self-autonomy, self-awareness and decision making, in order to create and promote the girls to become leaders of change in their communities.
• We fight to break the stereotypes and social systems that create violent environments for girls
SUPPORT OUR 2020 ANUAL PROJECT IN SOACHA FOR A TOTAL OF 50 GIRLS
Help us reach a new total of 50 girls beneficiaries of niñas sin miedo’s programs. Programs that will convert their free time to learning and empowerment opportunities.
Each girl enrolled in the girls without fear foundation has access to all the empowerment center programs.

Principal Project
1. Create education cycles* for up to 50 girls aged 7-17 in our programs.
2. Start creating the foundations to replicate our program in other regions of Colombia.
*The cycles last 1.5-2 years
General Objective
Create a flexible curriculum for NSM, divided into connected modules, and set up so that girls can join at any point. The curriculum will focus on the rights of women, girls, and adolescents, to prevent all violence against them as well as unplanned pregnancies.
Through our planned activities in each module, we will incentivize critical thinking and the girls' power to make their own decisions.
What does Niñas Sin Miedo envision in the long run?
1. Women creating healthy, long-term relationships in their lives
2. Lower risk of unplanned pregnancies in girls and adolescents
3. The ability for women to detect situations of potential violence, sexual harassment, or domestic violence
4. Women who can replicate and promote their rights.
5. Women as change agents in their communities and the larger society.
With your contribution, what does a girl access in the fearless girls program?
‘Niñas sin miedo - Fearless girls’ is a group of leading leaders who live a unique experience during a year. Each girl receives free access all year round at our Girls Empowerment Center, so that, they have access to
1. The sexual and reproductive rights education program,
2. foundation ́s branded t-shirt
3. accident insurance.
4. As a complement to this annual experience, the girls who are part of the program attend exchanges with other girls, organizations and spaces of inspiration.
5. English clases two day per week
6. Yoga clases on sundays
7. Art classes
