LOGLINE

SYPNOSIS
This is a narrative drama that reflects the struggling experience of being on probation. Following a man named Jamal Harris reminiscing his traumatic past that led to his circumstances despite him being framed for it. This film will highlight the issues within the probation system as well as the corrupt laws that contribute to the cycle of incarceration in urban communities.
BACKGROUND
I chose this topic after working at a Probation Center, and learning how the system contributes to the mass incarnation of black and brown communities. This inspired my Senior Thesis to reflect the many people who constantly navigate a complex set of rules and guidelines to avoid violating the terms of their probation. This can be incredibly stressful and can lead to a sense of fear and anxiety that can be difficult to shake.
When individuals are placed on probation, they are often unable to work or contribute to society in a meaningful way. This can lead to a sense of frustration and despair, which can ultimately lead to more crime and other negative outcomes.
This film is being coproduced by human rights activist Latonya Myers,
who's been facing almost a decade of supervision after a string of minor crimes. Now fighting for Probation reform for those at risk. Your donation will be a contribution towards the reform, as we plan to push this film to bigger markets to spread awareness of the issue.
ALL DONATIONS WILL BE CREDITED IN THE FILM CREDITS!!
