After years of running casually but never competitively, I’m running a half marathon this September in aid of Alzheimer's Society and every donation will help combat this horrific disease. Alzheimer’s and dementia are brutal conditions which strip those we love who are suffering of so much life, and which my family have struggled with personally in recent years. One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime, which is a shocking statistic and I’m hoping my small contribution and effort will at least help other families combatting this horrible time and and contribute to the efforts of trying to find a cure for sure a horrible disease.
