To Our Loved Ones, We are writing to share an update on my moms health, as many of our close friends and family members are aware, she has been battling stage three Endometrial Cancer and has had a very rough experience. A few weeks ago, she completed her last round of chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment. We were all excited to move forward with the recovery process and celebrate her successes and strength. Unfortunately, on January 18th, she woke up in extreme pain and was rushed to the ER, where she underwent emergency surgery due to a perforated bowel caused by the chemotherapy and immunotherapy. She was placed in the ICU and, unfortunately, had to undergo an ostomy procedure, on top of recovering from a hysterectomy. She is now home recovering but requires regular visits from a home nurse. Her road to recovery will be lengthy. Throughout this ordeal, my Dad has been a constant source of support and has not left her side. Due to the severity of the surgery and recovery, he is currently unable to work due to being my mom’s full time caregiver.
