The very first battle in life for son Nathan was having pneumonia at the age of 2 months old. He was hospitalized for 2 weeks and eventually recovered. Thereafter, his immune system was gradually getting stronger and he was able to overcome colds, coughs, and a little sniffle here and there, like every other growing healthy child. He became a very active little boy who loved to play sports. He loved every sport that had a ball, from basketball, to bowling, to golf, to baseball, you name it and he would play with so much enthusiasm and happiness. He is also very sweet and well-mannered  little boy with so much love for his little sister and parents. Just when we thought he was on his way to a normal, happy, and healthy childhood, Nathan comes across a battle between life and death. This battle began on September 13, 2014 when we first brought Nathan to a clinic for a check-up because he had stomach pains. The doctor performed his physical assesssment on Nathan and diagnosed him with having strep throat. We were sent home with a prescription for Amoxcillin for 10 days to treat his strep throat. We treated Nathan with the antibiotic as directed  by our doctor, which seemed to offer him some relief. But in the course of 5 days, Nathan started experiencing other symptoms. He started having fevers at night with chills, breaking out in hives, joint pains, moinor outbreaks of red rashes, pale, and lastly loss of appetite and evergy. His symptoms were kept in control with over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol and anti-histamines, but the breaking point was his sudden loss of appetite. On the 5th day we brought him in for a second check-up because we worried. The doctor immediately sent our little boy to the ER at Children's Medical center for further examination and treament. Nathan had a urinalysis and a blood test at the ER admission. Within a few hours of anxiously waiting at the ER, we were approached by the resident pediatrician with some terrible news. He clearly emphasized that, "We are very..very..very concerned about Nathan". He also added that in a few moments we were going to meet with an oncologist to further discuss Nathan's health condition. The very word "ONCOLOGIST" struck us with shock and disbelief. It was at that very moment we realized our 3yr. old is suffering from cancer. The news broke our hearts while pain and sadness filled our minds. Our bundle of joy had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The Oncologist team quickly started treament for Nathan and reassured us that they would do everything for Nathan. That was all we needed to hear and instantly our spirits lifted with hope. We knew that at that very instant God was with our family. And this is the beginning of Nathan's the little warrior, battle with cancer. His main source of strength to win against cancer is love from his family, loved ones, medical team and above all the Almight God! God bless our little Warrior Nathan. #littlewarriornathan #fighter #brave
