In March of 2025, Nathan received a life-changing diagnosis. While working on his grandmother’s house in Wales, he was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The doctors told him that 65% of his bone marrow was cancerous, with the further complication being that T-Cell ALL is considered a “tricky” diagnosis. Due to blood clots in his neck and arms, he was unable to safely travel home to begin treatment, and therefore spent the first 5 weeks receiving treatment at University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff, Wales. After about a month and a half of intense chemotherapy, fortunately, his leukemia reached remission. Not without the difficulty of the intense regimen of chemotherapy for the pursuant 8 months, his condition was progressing nicely. That all changed in the middle of November 2025, when a headache turned into a cancerous edema of the right optic nerve that would subject him to an invasive eye biopsy and eventually claim the vision in his right eye. If this ordeal was not already enough, the situation went from bad to worse. At the beginning of January 2026, another headache left Nathan with a brain cancer diagnosis. Specifically, Nathan experienced T-Cell involvement in his cranial nerves and central nervous system, affecting his motor and sensory function. Due to Nathan’s advancing situation, he is now being considered for a potentially life-changing clinical trial with City of Hope, a leading cancer treatment and research organization in the United States. We have high hopes that this will be a turning point in Nathan’s Journey, and therefore feel as though it is a good time to both share what has been occurring and ask for the support from his community that could do so much good.
