Kimberly's Recovery

Hi, my name is Cyndi York and I created this Go Fund Me for my friend Kimberly Siegfried Palmer. On Wednesday February 21, 2024 at 5:00am Kim was rushed to Milford Hospital. Within a few hours she was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with a massive ruptured aneurysm, pressing on her brain stem. The surgeons were very clear with Kim's family that this was a very difficult surgery and the odds of surviving the surgery were not favorable. Miraculously, Kim survived the surgery but now she has a very long road to recovery. The extent of permanent damage is not known yet. They needed the swelling in her brain to go down so that they can perform an MRI. They did the MRI Monday night which revealed vasospasm. They did a procedure to inject meds directly to that area. She still has no movement on her right side arm or leg but they believe she has feeling. They have now scheduled a spinal MRI as well. Regardless of the outcome, Kim will likely be needing long term care and most likely will be unable to return to her career as a CNA caring for elderly patients whom she loved dearly and was her passion. For those of you who know Kim, you know she is a fighter and one tough cookie! She is loved by many because she is a beautiful soul inside and out that fiercely loves her family, friends and our special group of friends whom we call La Familia.
