Basic Survival

Usually I'm on the giving end of things, and it's a tough thing for me to swallow my pride (and fear) and make public my need. Feeling the fear and doing it anyway. Here goes nothing...

This unemployment situation is really starting to hurt, especially since it’s holiday time. It sounds totally cliched, but I have to get up to VT because I worry this could be my mom’s last Christmas. I always figure out a way and I just don’t see it right now.

I’m down to my last $500, in the world. Missed my first mortgage payment ever. Gas and electric are threatening shut-off. I expected a job offer before the holidays that they’re now saying will be mid-January before decisions are made. Other irons in the fire, but nothing that will move quickly enough to help in the moment.

Contacted mortgage company, they can’t help me because “I have no income.”  ⁉️ They suggested I contact the Hardest Hit Program. Called them, they won’t even talk to me until I’m❗️60 days delinquent❗️and have gotten an Act 91 notice from mortgage company (I’m not even 30 days yet).  Trying to be proactive, because it feels like I’m running out of options.

I’m truly very happy in all areas of my life except for this one, right at this moment.   I just don’t see a way to get out of it.   Everything ALWAYS works out well for me, this one’s just cutting it a little close for comfort. Hence, the request for help.

I work very hard to keep things positive and hopeful, but it just feels like it’s time to ask for help from friends, since the system doesn’t appear to be any help until I’m WAY in the hole.

The first thing I will do with any funds donated is get my mortgage, gas, and electric current. I'm not a month behind yet, but after 45 days they will start foreclosure actions. I LOVE my house, and those of you who've been here know what a special place it is.  I want to stay here!
Anything beyond that will go toward getting to/from my mom's in VT, groceries and other living expenses, and to make at least a partial payment toward the classes that my daughter is taking. I don't want to pull her from this amazing program!

Another big piece is that I really don't want my daughter to feel anxious. She's old enough to sense that something is going on, but young enough that she shouldn't have to take on the stress of it. Stability for her is actually my top priority, and your help can ensure this.

So, that's the story right now. I am grateful for so many things, and so many people, whether you give or not. Any assistance offered will be paid forward!
