Hi, my name is Laura!
This year, as I celebrate my 40th birthday, I want to do something a little different. Instead of gifts, I’m asking friends, family, and my wider network to join me in supporting a cause very close to my heart.
Over the past few months, I’ve had the privilege of actively supporting an orphanage in Sierra Leone run by my dear friend, Abu. (https://www.stichtingadf.nl/)
I’ve seen firsthand the incredible work he is doing to provide shelter, education, and hope for children who might otherwise be left without support. His commitment and love for these kids is deeply inspiring, and as someone born in Sierra Leone who witnessed the impact of the civil war, he is determined to give these children the safety and opportunities they deserve.
That’s why I’m dedicating my birthday to raising funds for the orphanage. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Abu continue to provide food, schooling, and a safe home for the children.
Turning 40 feels like a milestone, and I can’t think of a better way to mark it than by standing alongside these kids and their future. If you’d like to celebrate with me, please consider making a donation. Together, we can make a real difference in their lives.

Quest'anno, in occasione del mio quarantesimo compleanno, vorrei fare qualcosa di diverso. Invece dei regali, chiedo ai miei amici, alla mia famiglia e alla mia rete di conoscenti di unirsi a me nel sostenere una causa che mi sta molto a cuore.
Negli ultimi mesi ho avuto il privilegio di sostenere attivamente un orfanotrofio in Sierra Leone gestito dal mio caro amico Abu (https://www.stichtingadf.nl/). Ho visto con i miei occhi l'incredibile lavoro che sta facendo per fornire riparo, istruzione e speranza a bambini che altrimenti rimarrebbero senza alcun sostegno. Il suo impegno e il suo amore per questi bambini sono di grande ispirazione. Essendo nato in Sierra Leone e avendo vissuto in prima persona gli effetti della guerra civile, Abu è estremamente determinato a dare a questi bambini la sicurezza e le opportunità che meritano.
Ecco perché dedico il mio compleanno alla raccolta di fondi per questo orfanotrofio. Ogni contributo, indipendentemente dall'importo, sarà destinato direttamente ad aiutare Abu a continuare a fornire cibo, istruzione e una casa sicura ai bambini.
Compiere 40 anni è una tappa importante e non riesco a pensare a un modo migliore per festeggiarla che stare al fianco di questi bambini e supportare attivamente il loro futuro. Se vuoi festeggiare con me, ti invito a prendere in considerazione la possibilità di fare una donazione.
