Aloha, we are Jesa and Rob - Daisy Mae’s paw-parents. Daisy’s medical journey has been a medical mystery.
On October 20th, we took her in for an emergency visit because of her excessive thirst and urination (to the point she could not hold her pee while she slept or rested, which caused her to have accidents on the bed and couch). The findings of this visit were that her liver enzyme levels were extremely elevated, and we were given antibiotics and liver medication to hopefully bring them back to normal.
Two weeks later, we had a follow-up appointment, and Daisy was much better, but her liver enzymes, although lower than the initial, were still slightly elevated. The vet gave us another refill of antibiotics in hopes of getting them down to normal.
However, right after that visit, Daisy would have elongated bouts of high fever, became lethargic, and started to refuse food. On Nov. 13th, we took her in for another emergency vet visit and found that her liver enzymes are on the rise again despite being on medication. Every single test that was run to find a diagnosis has come back negative, and her fever always comes back (with a vengeance).
Currently, Daisy is in the vet hospital, but with all that has happened, Rob and I are at an impasse because as much as we would do anything for our fur-baby, we financially cannot cover any next steps.
The next steps are to complete an ultrasound to hopefully find what is causing her distress, and our vet is recommending Daisy to stay in the hospital until her fever is manageable.
We are humbly asking for any help so that we can find a cure for Daisy and bring her back to health.
