After a week or so she started to improve her speech and movement. She was set to come home Saturday the 29th, and unfortunately she had another stroke early Friday morning. The second stroke was in the same location but with a larger area. This caused all of her progress to go out the window.
Since the strokes were large on the left side of her brain this has effected her speech, thinking, reasoning, swallowing, and movement on the right side of her body. As of now she is unable to move her right arm, very limited movement in her right leg, has very limited speech, and cannot find the right words when speaking. All we can do now is hope and work through therapy to get her as strong as possible and find her new baseline.
Since we have moved to California away from all of our extended family we have no one we know to watch the girls (we have a 3 year old & a 4 month old) while I go visit mom in the hospital. Because of that, Mark has taken weeks off of work so I could be with my mother.
This has obviously caused a lack of income. Along with the gas to drive 35+ minutes to the hospital, parking fees, and the unexpected medical bills that keep popping up... We are barely making it by. Mark has gone back to work, which has left me unable to see my mother most days- due to no one under 21 allowed (so the kids can't go) and limited visiting hours from COVID - leaving my mother alone, scared, emotional, and unable to speak on the phone.
I am asking for any help to out towards gas, parking fees, monthly bills, and especially the medical bills that keep rolling in. Thank you in advance. I'm hoping my mother will keep fighting strong and can come home soon, I know my daughter cannot wait to have Grandma back home! ♡
