Tampa Boys Make It To The Nationals
Donation protected
The U-16 FC Tampa Scorpio team was formed in 2009 when FC Tampa soccer club was on the brink of collapse. The club managed to overcome the odds and to date continues to flourish and support youth players, many from lower-income communities in the Tampa Bay area, who would otherwise not have the opportunity to enjoy a sport whose mass appeal stems precisely from its worldwide accessibility across race, gender, and socio-economic strata. Along the way FC Tampa Scorpio, now a first division team, has had its share of bumps in the road. This year the boys finally pulled together as a team, with the mentorship and guidance of dedicated volunteer coaches, manager, club administrators and supportive families and community. They clinched the FYSA Cup for their region and then went on to win first place in the FYSA Presidents Cup. On June 11-14 the U-16 FC Tampa Scorpio represented the State of Florida at the 2015 U.S. Youth Soccer Region III Presidents Cup Tournament in Lafayette, LA and took first place. They have done us proud and now they move on to Nationals in Overland Park, KS. We still need your help in getting this squad of committed and hard-working young men to Missouri. Your donations went a long way in making our first trip possible. Please help us bring the title home. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 club and donations are 100% tax deductible. We know from experience that it takes a village and FC Tampa thanks you wholeheartedly for your support!
