About Khalsa Peace Corp:
Khalsa Peace Corps (KPC) was founded in 2009. The founders were inspired by their belief that a full spiritual experience requires one to transform their higher conscience into action. Thus the role of Khalsa Peace Corps is to be a platform that transforms ones’ higher conscience into daily actions of service and sharing.
Our first volunteer and another dear friend, both with endless service in their hearts joined KPC as board members. Together we work to sustain & grow the organization as a vital platform for community service, humanitarian aid and volunteerism on a daily basis & during disaster relief.
About share a meal:
Share A Meal is a daily expression of the compassion and humility in our spirit. Having spent the day in the material world of money-making in a competitive race to out-do others, we come together with other service minded individuals to serve the less fortunate, with no expectation of receiving anything in return. During the day we count our return for the time, talent, and skills we invest, but in the evening the feeling is different. There is no counting of the return. The homeless feel humanized and keep their hopes and dreams alive. These people are the forgotten lot in our society. We shun them and/or dismiss them as bums of society. Each one of them have a story behind how they got where they are. It is not our job to judge them. Our role is to help nourish their body and spirit at that critical phase of their life’s journey.
We will be in Santa Monica the 16th of April 2016, donate what you can and help us raise the money for this sharing day, we will be cooking and rolling burritos. Then with our volunteers at Golden Bridge Yoga will be waking around and give them to homeless.
Thank you for your help, in light and joy.
