To purchase a prosthetic leg to aid mental health

Donation protected
I'm raising money so I can buy a prosthetic blade so I can get back in to running and doing the sports that i love.

My story -

Back in 2018 I had my left leg amputated above the knee due to various tumours and eventually shattering my femur after the hospital made serious errors.
In the nut shell when they removed the 2nd tumour they failed to put any replacement bone where they hollowed out the bone and left my leg with only 2mm of bone which held my leg together ( unknown to me obviously) .
They assured me my problems were over and told me I could go back to the sport I love (cricket), in my 1st game I played a shot off my hips and my leg shattered and pointing at a right angle . To make matters worse my young son Harry who was 3 at the time saw what happened and saw what pain I was in ( I was screaming) This affected him for many months after and it's something I feel very guilty about to this day.
I was rushed to surgery where they put an internal fixator in my leg with plates , pins and ties .
After 18 months the pain was unbearable as the break would never heal so I opted for an above the knee amputation which was the best decision I have ever made.

I got my life back! But the one thing I miss is running, I play and captain cricket teams both able bodied and a county disability team .

At the moment when I play cricket I bat but have someone run for me which as you can imagine makes many people talk and I find it quite embarrassing if I'm honest .
I want to be able to bat and run again and play the game as normal as possible.

Before my issues ,running was massive in my life ,not only for fitness but also for my mental health , I would love nothing more than to be back doing it.
My son Harry(he's 10) is also a cricketer and plays club, district and county cricket and I want to be able to take him out running with me .

I've had a quote for how much the prosthetic leg will cost and what I will need.
I need-
A blade foot (obviously)
A sports knee
A socket

All in all it will cost just over £8500

I have a company ready to make this for me as soon as I've got the money secured .

I've tried grant's but no avail unfortunately so I'm left to resort to this , I'm embarrassed to do it but I have no where else to turn

Unfortunately the NHS won't supply a blade for sport as they just simply don't have the funding for it .
The NHS are wonderful and have supplied me with state of the art prosthetics for my day to day life but you just can't run on them (I've tried and tired and tired ) .

Please if you can spare any amount it would be so appreciated.
Please help me to run again and help get my fitness back (and lose some timber !)

Any amount you could spare would be fantastic.

My plan is to do some running and raising money for a charity called steel bones who support new and old amputees .

I'll stop groaning on now and let you get on with your day .

Any extras over the £12k will go towards my 6 monthly maintenance costs .

Thanks so much
