Send Kayla to D.C.!

Hi Everyone! Let me tell you a little about myself, my name is Kayla and I go to Herman Middle School. I have always worked very hard to achieve good grades. Currently, I am enrolled in three honor classes and have always maintained a 3.7 or higher GPA. 

On top of working hard to keep my grades high, I am also on two competitive All Star Cheer Teams. I practice from 4:00-8:00 in the evenings and compete in competitions throughout the year at various locations. Although I have a passion for cheer, I always put my schoolwork first....partly because my mom makes me :) but mostly because I value education and want to be successful in life.

I want to experience history firsthand and not just read the words in a textbook. As an eighth grader, this year I have the opportunity to travel with my classmates to Washington D.C., Pennsylvania and New York. There are so many one in a lifetime experiences that I will get from this trip. From National Monuments to Capital Hill where they make laws, to Times Square and my first Broadway show. The thing I am looking foward to most is the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

I know money is earned and everyone works for it. I plan on helping out around the house and saving money from my Birthday and Christmas. I also plan on selling snow cones at my sisters elementary school. But I need your help as well :) Please consider donating to my fund to help send me on my 8th grade trip. I appreciate ANY amount that helps me get closer to my goal. I know I don't know most of you, but I would like to think someday when I am an adult I will pay it forward and do the same for another when the opportunity arises. Thank you for your time!
