Leo’s Medical Expenses

UPDATE #2: 2/28/25 Leo is home and recovering from his arm amputation. The first night was rough, but now he is eating, drinking and using the litter box on his own. We are so proud of him! The medical expenses don’t stop yet. He has a follow up in 2 weeks to check his incision and in 1 month to check on his kidney function which they are a bit concerned about. UPDATE #1: On 2/25/25 it was confirmed that the Leo has Cancer, soft tissue sarcoma. He is having his arm amputated on 2/27/25. This is a very devastating time for us and we appreciate all the love and support!

This is Galileo (Leo, Gali, Bubba, Little Man, etc.), our almost 9-year-old, TikTok famous, tuxedo cat. Two weeks ago, I noticed his right forearm was very swollen, though he was acting totally fine at this point. The next day, Josh took him to the vet where they took tissue samples and told us they didn’t think it was an infection or cancer. Two weeks later, he was not any better, and he was not putting as much weight on his leg. We took him back to the vet. It might be cancer. At this point, we have spent several hundred dollars and are looking at spending several hundred to thousands more on surgery and/or, in the worst case, having his limb removed.

I am reaching out on behalf of Josh to try to gather funds to help offset the cost of his vet bills, medications, and upcoming surgeries.

Many tears have already been shed, but we are trying to stay hopeful. He is family, and we will do whatever we can to help him through this.
