Jordan's Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dawn and I am fundraising for a sweet 12-year-old girl named Jordan Jeffries.
When your child has cancer, your whole world changes. You devote every second and every dollar you have to save your child. Take a minute to imagine finding out your sweet daughter has a brain tumor. Imagine the day you find out that it is terminal. Most of us cannot imagine what they are going through or the struggles they face daily.
I met this sweet little girl in 2017 and I was immediately drawn to her beautiful blue eyes. She was in kindergarten with my youngest and I quickly realized what a sweet family we came across. At the end of her kindergarten year, she had a seizure and that is when they were given the news no family wants to hear.
Most people have a hard time making it day to day and when you have a child going through treatment, the financial strain will overwhelm you without a doubt. This is the time when the family should be able to focus on saving their little girls life, but instead they are constantly trying to figure out how to make ends meet and at the same time give Jordan the best life they can while she is with us.
Jordan was out of treatment options here in St. Louis and was accepted into a trial at St. Jude’s which is wonderful. This has put more of financial strain on them though as one parent needs to be with Jordan during her treatment and she is at St. Jude’s for weeks at a time. When you go from both parents working to one income, paying your bills becomes very difficult.
Imagine picking between having a roof over your family’s head or trying to save your daughter’s life. Nobody should have to make that choice. Please consider helping this family in their fight. Please help us save Jordan's life and keep a roof over her family's head. You have no idea how much this would mean to a sweet little girl that doesn't deserve what life has dealt her.
Those who know Jordan know how sweet and kind she is, she is always positive and smiling. She has a little sister that she loves and protects. She puts her family before herself always telling them not to worry, she is ok, even when she is not.
Jordan just entered middle school and while it is hard enough to fit in, she is dealing with some major swelling from steroids, small red bumps all over her face, scalp, and neck. She has issues with her sight, walking and with fine motor skills. She has had several surgeries to remove as much of the tumor as possible. She had radiation to the point that she cannot have anymore. She has undergone more than one type of chemo; I think she is up to 2 pills and 2-3 liquids a day right now. She is not on the 6th grade level that she should be on, but who would be going through the fight for your life. I know this list is bigger than what I just named, but it is what I can see from the outside looking in.
Of course there is also the matter of her family that is at home separated from each other. Her dad Justin has become a single dad overnight while her mother, Trisha is at St. Jude’s with Jordan. She has a little sister, Charlee, that is dealing with the day to day of having a sister with terminal cancer and what goes along with you parent being away from home as well.
Every penny counts. If you can't donate, please pray and share. This family deserves all the help they can get. Jordan deserves to be a teenager and to experience the things all teens look forward to, dating (don’t tell her dad), driving, hanging with friends.
Just for a little insight into what she is battling, she has a cancer that is typically found in a middle aged man, so how treatments will work on a 12 year old girl are pretty unknown at this point. I am praying for her miracle, but we need an army for prayers and support. Thank you in advance for any donation, thoughts, prayers you are able to bless this family with, you have no idea how much it means to them.
