Support for the Taylor Family

As some of you may know, but many are learning, Ginnie and Josh welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Henry Kelvin Taylor, to the world on February 3rd, 2019 after a long labor process and emergency c-section. It is a moment of joy that quickly became the moment all parents fear. Henry had his cord wrapped around his neck while in the birth canal. The compression cut off the oxygen to his brain for, what they believe to be, 30 minutes. This caused Henry’s brain to be severely damaged.
Henry was quickly taken to Seattle Children’s Hospital and began a cooling treatment that has shown success with reducing swelling and reversing some brain damage. Henry completed the full 72 hour treatment yesterday, but sadly it was unsuccessful. The doctors examined Henry and determined that he had no brain function, other than the brain stem.
Today was a monumental undertaking for Ginnie and Josh. They had to make the decision that no parent should ever have to. The life support was removed from their son, Henry Kelvin Taylor, so that he can be free of his physical binds and suffering. With their family surrounding them, and the support of a pastor, they said goodbye to their sweet son.
Ginnie and Josh are two of the most incredible, most generous, most thoughtful, most loving, and most appreciative people we know. They are devoted friends to all of us, so it is only natural that all of us are asking what we can do, how we can help, and how we can support them.
Medical expenses will surely be mounting for them and those expenses will inevitably add additional stress to their grieving family. Offering a financial contribution of any amount will certainly be appreciated and will help Ginnie and Josh move forward without the added financial burden of this tragedy.
On behalf of Ginnie, Josh, and Henry, we thank you for the incredible outpouring of love, condolences, and never ending support. With time, Ginnie and Josh will be ready for the distractions of friends, colleagues, visitors, and outings. When that time comes, it will be crucial for all of us to keep the emotional support strong for this incredible couple as they go through the healing process. Send a card, pick up the phone, go out to lunch, make a visit to Seattle, do FaceTime, and let them know they’re not alone in their grief but that we will all find a way to heal.
