25th World Scout Jamboree

Hi! My name is Alec, I am 13 years old, and live in Wilmington, England. I have been lucky enough to be selected to have an opportunity of a lifetime to the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea, 2023. However, I have to raise a staggering £3900 to get there, along with the other 35 scouts and explorers. As you can probably guess, I am really excited!

If you did not already know, the World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is a massive international gathering of over 75,000 Scouts from over 170 different countries and territories around the World. The WSJ is held in a different country every 4 years. For example, 4 years ago was the Jamboree in West Virginia, America. This time around it is being held in SaeManGeum, South Korea.

The purpose of the Jamboree is to build an environment of tolerance, collaboration, teamwork and to explore through a wide range of activities most of which I would have never had experienced before or be likely to.

I have been a part of scouting since I was 6 years old, and I have had an amazing time ever since. Scouting has provided me and hundreds of thousands of other people around the world with fun and adventurous opportunities to make new friends, learn new skills and to challenge yourself.
