I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Stephanie Rodriguez, who was recently diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. This devastating news has not only taken an emotional toll but has also created significant financial strain.

Stephanie exhausted all her benefits and paid time off for procedures and imaging that is required for starting chemotherapy. Since starting chemo treatment, she quickly developed side effects, had multiple ER visits, impacting her ability to carry out her nursing duties at Memorial Herman Hospital. She has modified her entire life to be able to meet her financial and medical needs and even accepted a lower paying position so she can continue working through this illness. Stephanie is just beginning her chemotherapy plan and has a long journey ahead of her. The cancer treatment, the mounting medical expenses—along with everyday bills—are becoming overwhelming.
